Scrollbar hosts the official weekly Fredagsbar (Friday Bar) of IT University of Copenhagen. In March 2010, we made a StarCraft; after that we needed a little break to come up with new ideas (1 year :P). On the 11th of March 2011, Mike (ed.) anchored the bar for the Duke Nukem bar. Finally Hell has frosen and Pigs could fly, as the long awaited Duke Nukem Forever would be released in Juni. To celebrate that Mike (ed.) came up with new cocktails that would make the Duke proud.

We pooled our vast knowledge of mixing and alcohols (this is Denmark, after all) to craft nine unique Duke Nukem-theme drinks.

The most popular ones were Shake it, Baby! and the Nuke. But all our recipes were very well-received. We encourage you to give them a try - but please credit us if you do!

Cocktails

Duke

"It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all outta gum."

"Hail to the king baby!"

Glass:

Garnish:
2 Lime Wedges on the rim

Shaken

• 2 cl Tequila Gold
• 2 cl Dark Rum
• 2 cl Southern Comfort
• 2 cl Cointreau
• 1 cl Grenadine
• 1 cl Monin Watermelon
• 1 cl Ananas Juice
• 2 cl Lime Juice
• 2 cl Schweppes Lemon

Directions:
Shake first 8 ingredients with ice. Pour into Ice-filled Glass. Top up with Schweppes Lemon

Notes:

The Duke needed a lot of booze, but with that much it was hard to balance it out. I decided that the base should be Tequila. Figured that he would do a lot of body-tequilas on the girls ;)

Freeze Gun

"Rest in Pieces"

Glass:
Highball Glass

Garnish:
crushed Ice

• 2 cl Bols Blue
• 3 cl Mint liqueur
• 2 cl Light Rum
• 2 cl Gin
• Club Soda

Directions:
Shake ingredients with ice. Top up with Club Soda and crushed Ice

Notes:
2 fun weapons in Duke Nukem 3d was the Freeze- and Shrink-gun and then afterward using your Mighty Boots to either smash the icy statue or splat a tiny enemy and this is how I came up with these two cocktails and shot.
Mix Freeze Gun with Mighty Boots to smash the drink.

Shrink Gun

"It's time to abort your whole freaking species!"

Glass:
Highball Glass

Garnish:
None

• 2 cl Kiwi liqueur
• 2 cl Galiano
• 2 cl Lime
• 2 cl Gin
• Club Soda

Directions:

Shake ingredients with ice. Top up with Club Soda and crushed Ice

Medkit

"Hmm, I needed that!"

None

• 8 cl Grape Juice
• 8 cl Cranberry Juice
• 2 cl Monin Mures
• 2 cl Gin

Directions:

Shake ingredients with ice.

Notes:
A bi-product in the search for the “Shake it, Baby!”. The color and the taste led me to name it “Medkit”

Nuke

"Nuke 'em 'till they glow, then shoot 'em in the dark!"

Glass:
Highball Glass

Garnish:
None

• Yellow Soda
• 2 cl Gajol in a shot glass

Directions:
Pour soda in glass with a few Ice cubes. Drop Shot with gajol into it 1 Gajol shot

Notes:
I wanted to do a drink which resembles the famous nuke sign in Duke Nukem, so I creates this :D

Right In the Jewels

"Now this is a force to be reckoned with!"

Glass:
Highball Glass

Garnish:
None

• 2 cl Vodka
• 2 cl Whiskey
• 2 cl Apricot Brandy
• 1 cl Grape
• Yellow Soda

Directions:
Shake ingredients with ice. Top up with Yellow Soda

Fellow Bartender Edward Hansen created this one. Got inspired by the trailer where Duke hit a monster in the Jewels!!

Shake it, Baby!!

"You wanna dance?"

• 2 cl Bols Strewberry
• 2 cl Sourz Raspberry
• 2 cl Gin
• Yellow Soda

Directions:
Shake ingredients with ice. Top up with Yellow Soda

Notes:
Of course there had to be a drink that represented the girls in the game.
This was a hard one to make. Create a taste drink, but also Slutty in some ways. Hope you enjoy it

Shooters

Devastator “Shot”

"That's gonna leave a mark!"

• 1 cl Fernet Menta
• 1 cl Dark Rum
• 1 cl Bailey
• Dash Tabasco

Notes:
Thi sone I got inspiration from my last themebar and the Zerg Rush. Somehow people liked to get rushed so for the Devastator I had to make it more deadly. So I changed the normal Fernet Branca with Menta instead. Enjoy :S

Mighty Boots “shot”

"My boot, your face; the perfect couple.”

• 1cl Whiskey
• 1cl Rum
• 1 cl vodka

Directions:
Layer into Shot glass

Decorations

There was not much decoration this time, but we had pictures and posters of The Duke around.
